One of Oregon’s Best Places for Off-Roading
Tillamook State Forest has over 250 miles of off-road trails to enjoy. Tillamook is located due west of Portland, Oregon along I-90. Tillamook has trails ranging from easy to difficult and even has trails specific for motorcycles and quads.

Tillamook State Forest is open year round, but does have some areas which close seasonally.

The off-road trails are managed by the Oregon Department of Forestry and are well marked. Trails are occasionally closed due to logging, but trail closures will be posted. Tillamook State Forest is a great place to gain behind the wheel experience and perfect your skills as an off-roader. It’s also a fairly family friendly location, so it’s a good option for taking your kids for their first off-road excursion.
Costs and Permits
You’ll need an Oregon off-highway vehicle permit to off-road at Tillamook State Forest. There are no fees to use Tillamook State Forest, but donations are always appreciated.
Tillamook State Park many nice campsites, both for RVs and rustic. You’ll need to make reservations if you intend to camp on the weekend, but it’s easier during the week.
